Replacing my old News Tab, all career news blurbs 2004-2012

Another product of my transitioning from my old site design, is my lovely news tab. For now I'm keeping these blurbs for the current year on the homepage, but the past 8 years is becoming a bit long to haul about in one file.

So, here it is: From pretty much arriving in Los Angeles October 2004 until the end of 2012 ... here's a line-by-line description of what has occurred:

December 16th, 2012: Akie works on Daniel Jewel's short film Drone, starring Ewen Bremner. December 3rd-22nd, 2012: Akie performs in Ex Libris Macabre: A Night of Dark Fairytales at Theatre Delicatessen directed by Joe Thorpe of Lab Collective. November 25th, 2012: Akie will be playing a featured role in Tomoko, a feature film directed by Joseph Baker and Tom Large. November 20th, 2012: Akie wraps his featured role in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming feature film, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. November 5th, 2012: Akie books a Macmillan industrial. October 31st, 2012: Dark Fairytales fundraiser / scratch night. October 14th, 2012: Akie is playing Max in Making Sparks, directed by Jack Delaney. September 25th, 2012: Akie books a Cable & Wireless corporate industrial. September 10th, 2012: Akie joins the cast of Ex Libris Macabre: A Night of Dark Fairytales, a devised theatre project. August 18th, 2012: Akie participates in a rehearsed reading of Kick-Ass 2. August 8th, 2012: Akie books a BP corporate industrial for MediaZoo. July 13th, 2012: Akie books a music video for Garou. July 10th, 2012: Akie books a Vision corporate industrial. June 15th, 2012: Akie books a Kaspersky Internet Security commercial. June 10th, 2012: Akie plays the Man in The App, for the Virgin Media Shorts Competition, directed by Sam Gratton. May 31st, 2012: Akie is voicing Chandra Wisnu in Discovery TLC's The Bubble Skin Man, directed by Luke Campbell. May 21st, 2012: Akie is playing Masahito in Kyoto Rain, a London Film School film. May 11th, 2012: Akie is proud to have Ed Cobb at The American Agency as his UK agent. May 1st, 2012: Akie arrives in London, England. April 26th, 2012: Akie plays the lead role of an alien in Nate Horowitz's Crest Whitestrips commercial. March 10th, 2012: Performances begin on Old Love, part of Atwater Playhouse's One Act Play Festival, directed by Tara Kokenge and written by Jamie Paolinetti. February 13th, 2012: Akie books a national commercial for Toyota. February 7th, 2012: Akie begins rehearsing to play Greg in one act of Atwater Playhouse's One Act Play Festival, directed by Tara Kokenge and written by Jamie Paolinetti. Performances on March 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th. January 25th, 2012: Akie is playing Harper in Jenny Januszewski's feature film adaptation of Stephen King's short story The Boogeyman. November 14th, 2011: Akie is playing John in Mitch Anderson's short film Bruises for the Art Center of Design. October 11th, 2011: Akie books another Verizon commercial. September 17th, 2011: Akie wraps his role of Aaron in an untitled short film shot on the Red camera that he came up with the initial story concept, with Harry Allen producing. First writing attempt in the can! September 8th, 2011: Akie is playing Ethan in a industrial project about harrassment in the workplace. August 28th, 2011: Akie works on another web series directed by Jason W. Ellis and produced by Veronica Parks and Kenzo Lee. July 13th, 2011: Akie books two national spots for Verizon. July 9th, 2011: Akie is playing with condiments in Franco Leng's Wild West Film Fest. June 11th, 2011: Akie is playing Andrew in Jenny Januszewski's 3D short film The Shadower. May 29th, 2011: Akie is playing the title character in a staged reading of Oyster Shot: Trapped in the Ice Rink at Rubicon Theatre for theYoung Playwrights Festival. April 20th, 2011: Akie is participating in a scene shoot at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena for Mego Lin courtesy ofStephanie Nash. April 17th, 2011: Akie was invited to play Joe in episode 1.2 of How to Pick Up Girls, directed by Jason W. Ellis and produced by Veronica Parks. April 4th, 2011: Akie will be dubbing the character Shaman for the feature film Little Sister. March 29th, 2011: Akie has been offered a starring role in Paul Bright's feature Goliad Uprising. Principal photography to begin in August 2011. (passed on project) March 15th, 2011: Akie will begin playing a recurring character for ABC's All My Children. February 25th, 2011: Akie books Devon, a USC Graduate Short Film directed by Katrina Lencek-Inagaki, playing Pico. February 15th, 2011: Akie books a SAG Industrial Category II for Apple. January 29th, 2011: Webseries Time Trials screens tonight at 7pm at Raleigh Studios. January 17th, 2011: Akie will be featured on Dr. Paul Ekman's website, www.paulekman.com, as part of the Truth/Lie Interview section. December 31st, 2010: Akie books an ensemble role for Chris Berube's Dark Side of the Moon. Rehearsals for three weeks, then 8 weeks of performances. November 21st, 2010: Akie books a second iPhone commercial for Japan. October 7th, 2010: The original web series C.S.Y. will be featured at the Beverly Hills Film, TV, and New Media Festival. It screens on Saturday October 23 at 6pm at the Laemmle Music Hall on 9036 Wilshire Blvd. It was written and directed by PJ Marino, and co-directed by Carrie Specht. August 16th, 2010: Akie books a national Comcast commercial. June 21st, 2010: Akie books a iPhone commercial for Japan. May 19th, 2010 - Akie will be playing Akira Takahashi on AMC's Mad Men, created by Matt Weiner. Appearing in Season 4, Episode 5 (The Chrysanthemum and the Sword). April 6th, 2010: Akie books the role of Kai, one of four scientists in an upcoming webseries Time Trials, written by Clay Lapari and directed by Lee Jordan. April 2nd, 2010: Akie plays Aki Morita in An English Gentleman, a short film written by Nic Novicki and directed by David Johnson. March 28th, 2010: Akie plays Archie in the web series, C.S.Y. created by PJ Marino. February 9th, 2010: Midgets vs Mascots releases to DVD. Available at Amazon, Best Buy, Netflix, Blockbuster and more! December 8th, 2009: Akie books a character in L.A. Noire, an upcoming video game from Team Bondi & Rockstar Games. Scheduled to be released Fall 2010. August - November 2009: Akie works through the 2nd season of CMT's Singing Bee. September 9th, 2009: Akie books a co-star role on TNT's Southland. Episode is titled "The Runner," and airs March 23rd, 2010 at 10pm. August 11th, 2009: Akie books a Walmart commercial. July 18th, 2009: Pornography screens at Outfest 2009, Los Angeles. June 25th, 2009: Akie works on Chelsea Picken's short film, Myling. April 15th - May 30th, 2009: Akie coordinates music for The Singing Bee, this time for CMT. April 8th, 2009: Akie is going to be playing Aki, a recurring character on the upcoming NBC show Day One. March 10th, 2009: Midgets vs. Mascots to world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2009. January 22nd, 2009: Akie books a Dell Print Advertisement. December 7th, 2008: Akie performs a scene from Johnny Ngo's Life of a Suicide with Thomas Meston. October 14th, 2008: Akie books a Jack in the Box national commercial for the Hispanic market. July 21st, 2008: Akie booked a co-star role on CBS's Ghost Whisperer. Episode is titled "Save Our Souls," airing October 24th at 8pm Pacific Time. July 18th, 2008: Akie books a guest starring role playing Johnny Young in CSI: Miami. Episode is titled "Won't Get Fueled Again," airing September 29th at 10pm Pacific Time on CBS. May 13th, 2008: Akie booked a leading role on Midgets vs. Mascots directed by Ron Carlson. Shooting in Dallas commencing in May and June. May 9th, 2008: Akie is proud to have Shelley Pang with House of Pang as his exclusive agent for print representation. April 30th, 2008: Akie books a guest starring role playing Todd on Without a Trace." Episode is the season premiere, titled "Last Call," airing September 23rd at 10pm Pacific Time on CBS. December 15th, 2007: Akie is working on his upcoming role as Steve in the SAG TV pilot, Lost Angels. November 7th, 2007: Akie is playing dual supporting roles on the SAG independent feature Pornography - A Thriller directed by David Kittredge. November 1st, 2007: Akie is playing Kendo in an episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on FOX. October 5th, 2007: Akie is co-writing and acting with Masa Kanome in a short dramatic film project called The Route, directed by Kensuke Ota. August & September, 2007: Akie is working on the second season of NBC's summer hit The Singing Bee. July 28th, 2007: Akie booked a national commercial for Diet Mountain Dew. June 25th, 2007: Akie is proud to have Schiowitz, Connor, Ankrum, Wolf, Inc. & Caleigh Vancata as his theatrical agents. May & June, 2007: Akie is working on the upcoming NBC gameshow, The Singing Bee. March 12th, 2007: Akie is shooting a principal role for a national Canadian Chevrolet commercial. September 30th, 2006: Akie works as several voices for the English version of the Japanese anime Eien no Hou, orLaws of Eternity. September 17th, 2006: Akie works as a featured skateboarder in an upcoming US 5 music video. September 15th, 2006: The Achievers is accepted into the 2006 Hawaii International Film Festival. August 28th, 2006: Akie booked a potentially recurring role on Taye Digg's new ABC show Day Break. August 2nd, 2006: Akie has booked a supporting role in the SAG feature, Paradise Hills. March 14th, 2006: Akie worked on a Playstation Major League Baseball 2K6 print advert. January 25th, 2005: Akie worked on the short film Football and the City, directed by Charles Tien. September 18th, 2005: Akie booked a co-star role on Stacked. September 10th, 2005: Akie booked a role on an episode of ER, playing le parkour enthusiast Mako. August 25th 2005: Akie signed with Vincent Cirrincione Associates, with Anna Liza Recto as his manager. On June 5th, 2005, Akie started principal photography on The Achievers, playing the uber-stoner Shingo. May 17th, 2005: Akie performed in The Day I Lost My Shoes at the Company of Angels Theatre. April 25th, 2005: Akie booked a national commercial for K-Swiss shoes. April 16th, 2005: Akie booked his first national SAG commercial for Cingular. Correspondin print advert.
